What we collect, and why
This website has three forms. Nothing else on the site asks you for personal data, and there is no account to create.
Contact form
We collect the subject, the brand, your name, your email address and your message. We use them to answer you, which is the performance of a contract or the steps leading up to one (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR), or our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries (Article 6(1)(f)).
Media kit request
We collect your name, company, work email and role, and whether you ticked the box agreeing to hear from us about our titles and formats. We use the first four to send you the kit and follow up on it (Article 6(1)(f)). We use the tick box, and only the tick box, as consent for marketing email (Article 6(1)(a)).
Newsletter
We collect your email address, on the basis of your consent (Article 6(1)(a)). Every newsletter carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately.
Technical data that comes with any submission
When you send a form we also record the page you sent it from, the referring page, your browser's user-agent string, your language setting and a salted, truncated hash of your IP address. We do not store the IP address itself. The hash exists so we can rate-limit abuse without keeping data that identifies you.
Who processes it on our behalf
| Cloudflare | Hosting, the D1 database that stores form submissions, the Turnstile anti-bot check and cookieless traffic analytics. Data is processed in the EU where the network allows. |
|---|---|
| Resend | Delivery of the notification and confirmation emails triggered by the forms. |
| Google Workspace | Our own mailboxes, where your message arrives and from which we reply. |
| Klaviyo | Newsletter list management and sending, where the newsletter is concerned. |
Each of these acts as a processor under a data processing agreement. Where a transfer outside the European Economic Area is involved, it takes place under the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone outside the group for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
- Contact and media-kit submissions: 24 months from the last contact, so we can pick up a conversation where it left off.
- Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe, plus a short suppression record so we do not add you back by mistake.
- Technical data attached to a submission: the same period as the submission it belongs to.
- Anything that became part of a commercial agreement: as long as Dutch tax law requires, currently seven years.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, or hand it over in a portable format. You may object to processing based on legitimate interest. Where we rely on consent you may withdraw it at any time, and doing so does not affect what we did before you withdrew it.
Write to marketing@young.media and we will answer within one month. If you are not satisfied with how we handle it, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS only, with HSTS. Form submissions are validated on the server, protected by a bot check and rate-limited. Access to the stored submissions is restricted to the people in the group who need it.
Children
This website is aimed at professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe we have, write to us and we will delete it.
Automated decision-making
We do not profile you and we make no automated decisions that produce legal effects or similarly significant effects.
Changes
If this statement changes we update the date at the top. Material changes to how we use existing data will be communicated to you directly.
